When I was preparing this workshop, my spirit team said, it’s not a workshop, but a party to celebration souls coming to work better with us. * For all those who are beginning their spiritual journey or is at a healing point in their life, this is the workshop you need to attend! I have always been spiritual but only in the past few years have I intentionally tried to develop a practice. I started with a mismatch of incense, crystals, and sage and assembled an altar. I prayed, meditated, lit candles and hoped that my words ended up somewhere with someone. My practice felt purposeful but disconnected. I was doing all the things but wasn't really connecting my actions to a deep understanding of how it served me.
I met Betty in December when we had a reading together. From then on my spiritual understanding has unfolded tremendously. The first thing she told me was that I didn't need to implement every mystical practice I could think of to connect with my spirits guides. I should keep things simple. Thanks to Betty’s class, I now have a deeper understanding of a powerful unseen encounter I had just before a major car accident that changed my life forever. We had 4 of us packed into a 2-seater CRX. I was 16 going on 17 and was lying in the hatchback with my high school bestie. We were on our backs with our feet up on the passenger seat. The driver was cruising around and taking corners fast, but we were teenagers and not concerned. Right as we were going through the light where 90th south and 94th south merge, a very loud voice from out of now where commanded me, “Sit up NOW. Don’t ask any questions. Do as I say. Put your feet underneath the seat now.” The driver was 6’5 and had his seat all the way back. I was sitting right in the middle and put my feet under the passenger’s seat. “Put your sunglasses on your head NOW”. I had these Jackie Kennedy style white sunglasses that I adored. I went to put them on my face. “NO! Your head!” I slid them up on top of my head as I saw the upcoming light turn yellow and thought ‘Oh good. We’ll be stopping.’ That was not the case. The driver slammed on the gas and began to speed up the hill towards the light. I started to tell him to slow down, and the voice commanded “Don’t say a word. You will only make things worse. Relax. Everything is going to be OK.” A white car shot out in front of us. We barely missed it by inches. Then I saw our driver throw his arms up into the air, for we could not slow down anymore as another black car shot out in front of us. I began flying towards the front of the car. Next thing I knew I could see the windshield underneath my nose as I was being pulled back into the car. Immediately, I cupped my hands to catch the waterfall of blood pouring from my face. No one else in the car was moving. I looked around in disbelief. I could see crowds of people outside of the car, but no one was coming to us. They were just standing there horrified. As I looked around, I caught a glimpse of myself in the side view mirror. All I could see was blood. I thought for sure my face was gone. The voice stayed with me for a while and kept me calm until help arrived.
Strange thing was that earlier that day in that very same car, I had decided that I was atheist. That voice was a very clear sign to me that angels existed, therefore a higher power definitely existed. Until Betty’s class, I always wondered if some random angel popped in to save the day. Putting my feet underneath the passenger seat is what kept me in the car, and the sunglasses on top of my head took the primary impact instead of my skull. There was nothing left but the ear pieces, not even any chunks. Had that voice not kept me calm, I could easily have snapped my neck going thru the windshield if I’d tensed up in anyway. Now I know we are all assigned a “Protector Guide” who is there to protect you whenever there is danger. Mine is pretty amazing because without it’s commands that night, I wouldn’t be here today telling you this story. In fact, there have been other major incidents where my Protector saved the day. I was worried I was gonna run out of lives or something, like a cat. Now I know, I just happen to have a great Protector. Amongst many other angels and guides, who play different roles in helping us through this thing we call LIFE. I am very grateful to have a deeper understanding. Thank you, Betty ~Amber Dawn Powell
